My inspiration came from the famous French quote by Victor Quote originating in the 19th century, “L’art pour l’art”—Art for Art’s Sake. It is the philosophy that art doesn’t need a social, political, or moral excuse to exist. It is valuable because it is beautiful. Art is art and anyone says it's not, fuck them. This high-brow French concept is brought into the modern day with heavy ring-spun cotton and a bold skulls-and-roses graphic and in Spanish in honor of my Latinx hertiage. 

The slightly cropped, boxy silhouette sits perfectly at the waist, providing a vintage look with more character than a studio full of pretentious egoisctical bullies.

Because it’s pigment-dyed, the color has a lived-in depth that actually gets better with age. The sewn-in twill and shoulder-to-shoulder tape mean this shirt stays stable while the wearer is busy creating.

This shirt is for those who create for themselves, not for the critics. Art doesn’t owe anyone an explanation—and neither does the person wearing it so fuck it.
